Morrow Batteries becomes a public limited company and announces two members of Board of Directors

The conversion from AS to ASA has been formally registered, and the battery company will now go under Morrow Batteries ASA. Following the new shareholders from June 2022 and changeover, two new executives from ABB and Siemens joined the board.

On 31 October 2022, the general meeting of Morrow Batteries AS (Morrow) resolved to convert the company from a private limited liability company (AS) to a public limited liability company (ASA). The conversion will support future funding rounds as Morrow progresses in building a gigafactory in Arendal over the coming years and delivering cost-effective and sustainable batteries to the market.

“ASA” will now be added to the legal company name, however; the strategy and business remains unchanged.

During 2022, Morrow has announced two new executives nominated from shareholders in the Board of Directors.

Franziska Bossart is a seasoned Non-Executive Director based in Zurich. She serves as Group Vice President at ABB Technology Ventures and is globally responsible for investments in funds and in startups across the Americas, Europe, Asia and Israel. Prior to joining ABB Technology Ventures, Franziska was a Member of the Management Team of ABBs global Digital Group. She joined ABB in 2006 and has held various roles with increasing responsibility in Industrial Automation and Power Grids in Business Development, Innovation Management, and leading transformation programs.

Pedro Valle-e-Azevedo joins the board of Morrow from Siemens where he serves as an Investment Director. Based in London, he has specialized on investment opportunities in the energy and infrastructure spaces. His expertise spans across offshore wind, onshore wind, distributed energy, solar PV, and venture capital / growth equity investments in battery production for EVs, energy storage and EV charging infrastructure in both emerging and developed markets.

“We’re very pleased to strengthen our Board of Directors with Franziska and Pedro. They have deep international experience from the digital and cleantech space which will benefit Morrow in the current industrialization phase", says Liv Monica Stubholt, Chair of the Board at Morrow.
